Hospital
On June 30th, the Chippewa Valley Health Cooperative acquired the former St. Joseph’s Hospital campus in Chippewa Falls, WI and intends to operate it as an interim facility while it builds the new state-of-the-art hospital in Lake Hallie. (See details here) link to press release.
Now known as the Chippewa Valley Cooperative Hospital, initial services will open in Fall 2025.

Now that the Cooperative has taken possession of the facility, it is moving as fast as possible to prepare the building to open secure the necessary licensing and certifications to operate as a full-service hospital. Initial services include Cancer and Infusion Center, and Advanced Wound Care Center. Additional specialty care services will be announced. The Chippewa Valley Cooperative Hospital will be fully open by Summer 2026.

The Chippewa Falls Campus will have:
- 30-bed hospital with 5-bed Intensive Care Unit
- 24/7 Emergency Department
- Medical-surgical services
- Labor and delivery suits
- Comprehensive diagnostic service
- Cancer and Infusion Center
- Advanced Wound Care Center
- Other Specialty Services
The New Hospital
The new state-of-the-art Chippewa Valley Cooperative Hospital will be built in Lake Hallie, WI – between Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire, with easy access to major north-south and east-west interstate and state highways.
The new nonprofit full-service hospital will be approximately 144,000 square feet and employ over 400 high qualified full time medical professionals.

- 48 bed hospital, including a 12-bed ICU
- Medical-surgical services
- Labor & delivery suites
- Critical Care Units
- 24/7 Emergency Department
- Comprehensive Cancer Center
- Therapy services (Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy)
- Comprehensive Laboratory and Radiology Services
The new nonprofit full-service hospital will be approximately 144,000 square feet and employ over 400 high qualified full time medical professionals.
Projected Opening Date: Early 2028
